- Pan - When the camera moves in a Horizontal fashion traditionally on a tripod where it is able to have a 360 view on its surroundings. Often used to show a large section of a surrounding.
- Tilt - When the camera is used to pivot vertically on a tripod to get a low to high or high to low shot. It is often used to show a large building that perhaps a character is going to enter.
- Tracking (Dolly Cam) - When the camera is placed on heavy cart that is on smooth tracks to enable a camera to follow the scene or wherever the character is going.
- Crane - The camera is placed on crane or a Jib Arm where it is able to get over and around the action or scene to create an impressive and seamless shot. There are also some cheaper alternatives such as the Jib Arm.
- Handheld - The camera is Hand Help, hence the name. Its is help by a member of the crew to follow the scene to create a very realistic feel. The audience may feel that they are in the action or feel emerged in the film when this is used.
- SteadyCam - The camera is mounted on a man's shoulder, however the man is rigged with complexed and advanced balances and weights to make it seem as if the camera is seamlessly moving with the subject. Its often used to follow a walking character where tracts for a Doll Cam would be impossible as they would be seen in the shot.
